Just had another chat with my father
Ok it could be said as a bit hot-headed, but it fared much better than previous times
This time he was assertive, yet convincing and not sounding like I am a robot. If he talks to me like this in the future I don't mind stepping back and listening to him.
Anyways, speaking of which, it seems that I have this lack of "drive", this burning "passion" inside me. I am easily able to just go for this camp, go play basketball with my friends, without the slightest considerations of whatever I am doing now, etc. research. Even if I did consider, it was a quick and pragmatic approach that somehow does not match for the seriousness of whatever I am aiming to do this holiday.
Maybe my own view of "severity" is much more relaxed as compared to my father. But true enough, I think I do get his point. I think I really need to put in more effort, more attention, more sweat and blood into what I want to do in this holiday.
And, I just affirmed the power of connections.

A Moment of Truth
Just had a nice heart-to-heart chat with my mum.
Yes, heart-to-heart chat, no scolding, no reprimanding, yet the message is loud and clear.
I have alot of responsibilities now. In my family, in my work, in my life.

wth
Holidays are such a bore
Homework is such a chore
Stoning is such a sore
Never been so hard core
wa sheit
Sometimes I wish, there is no one to keep harping me on my homework and things, and incessantly reminding me of that imminent threat in that horizon of mine.

Wasting of Time
Define wasting of time.
Normally one is wasting time when you realise that whatever you have been doing is inherently of no value to yourself. If you help others, but do not feel gratitude or some form of satisfaction from it, it is also wasting your time. Why use your own time when you gain nothing out of it?
So essentially, I am not wasting my time now, since I am deriving excitement from the games I play, enjoyment from going out with my friends, and happiness spending time together. But if you look from the practical approach, I should be spending my time studying and researching now, not doing all these.
So what is wasting time? I think I just confused you, and even myself. I just took a big circle, a big round the bush.
And how about traveling for 1 hour, just to do nothing literally constructive? I really do not know.

Lol, got this from a friend who just read on facebook
In a biology class at university, the lecturer wass discussing sperm, and commented upon the amount of fructose contained within it, at which point a young lady put her hand up and asked
"If sperm contains so much fructose, why doesn't it taste sweet?"
As you can imagine at this point the whole lecture theatre broke into laughter, forcing the girl to go bright red, gather her things and try to run out of the theatre. As she reached the door, the lecturer asked her to stop, and said
"Before you go, if I can quickly answer your question. The reason sperm probably doesn't taste sweet is because the taste buds for sweetness are on the tip of the tongue, not the back."

Simplicity
The greatest thing in life, the ultimate key to happiness
is just simplicity.
Coca cola is mainly a carbonated sugared drink and yet the founder is one of the richest man in the world.
Macdonalds is mainly bread and meat + some vegetables and yet it is one of the largest food & beverage chain in the world
Buddhism and Christianity revolves around being simple and remaining at one's core values - Buddha wore nothing but a satin robe, Christ wore nothing but white cloth
Complexities, are merely made up of several "simplicities" interwined together
When you study, what you are study are complex matter, that is basically "simple" stuff explained in a complex manner.
In this world, whatever you have studied, at least 1 million people have studied the same thing. But what really matters, is whether you can digest such "complex" information into something even a layman can understand. This is what the world needs.
Imagine, if you know something complex, you can only talk to the 1 million people who have studied, but the other 1 million people do not know - because they don't study. But if you are able to make that complex thing simple, you can now talk to 2 million people, and still be speaking about the same complex thing!
Microsoft succeeded because it made computing so user-friendly and fool-proof, almost anyone can use it, and hence surpassed Macintosh.
When things are simple, they are focused - as there is no room for gibberish to take place. Do you realise that most famous sayings consists of only a few words? Who remembers famous works that are composition style? The more simple the saying, and the deeper the meaning, the more "famous" it gets.
--------------------
nice? Will you ever expect that I learnt all this in a 20 min light-hearted conversation with a taxi-driver? And no boombastic words were used. Plain simple english even a Primary school grader can understand. But what's the morale of the story?
Simple = Good
Really, one of the most inspirational talk I ever had that was so captivating.
